Ethan’s
Social Arena...……(or lack thereof)
By

I know summer is a very hectic time for
most people in our area. Everyone is out enjoying the nice weather, and kids
have us all running in every direction with their games and plans for their
summer vacation.
But, as you can tell just by stepping in the Mitchell Walmart, school will
resume again soon and our busy schedules will slow a little. Although some
may be busier with school activities and sporting events.
I have stated before that Ethan is a
wonderful, cozy town to live in, but if you do not have a child in the
school system here, it makes it hard to meet people. There are a few lovely
organizations around which give people opportunity to meet others and get
out of the house, but there really isn't much for a “social arena” other
than going to the local watering hole. I would love to see other
opportunities for people to get
together. I would like to hear from you, the community, about what you would
be interested in seeing established in Ethan for some added social time. I
myself would be extremely interested in starting a book club if there were
any others that would enjoy that. Reading is one of my favorite past times,
and I would love to spearhead something of that nature.
If there is any interest in a monthly
Book Club, or if you have any other ideas, please call me at 227.4418 or
email moedesignpub@gmail.com. I would love to hear what our community has to
say about bringing us all a little closer together.
