As rising gas prices and costs go up, Ethan has a lot to offer new perspective residents. Many of the homes in Ethan that are up for sale are a great deal. Anyone trying to make ends meet in our hard economy will appreciate the housing Ethan offers. With only a ten mile drive to Mitchell many reap the benefit of a small town life. As all us local residents know, very few places are you this close to a larger city and what it offers but get the quietness of a small town. Also having many local business to take care of your needs. As gas prices go up we may see more local services become available. We all know gas prices are hurting everyone’s pocket books, but as Mitchell's south side continues to grow so can Ethan from getting an extra boost.
A work towards economic self reliance needs to be undertaken to harness the raw untapped economy of Mitchell. Having viable housing available to Mitchell workers at a lower cost helps greatly.
At current, three houses are up for sale in Ethan and look to be great deals. The first being at 403 East Main Street. A lovely older 2 Story home with New Vinyl Permanent Siding, New Deck in 2007, Main floor laundry, and a large corner lot. Newer Laminate flooring in the Kitchen and Dining room. I for one welcome any new resident to Ethan and look forward to some fresh new faces in our community. As all of our costs go up maybe some residents new and old will start new business to revitalize our little town. Only we who care about Ethan can work to make itself a thriving community. We should take pride in the fact that many are choosing to stay in Ethan despite the high fuel costs to travel to Mitchell to work every day.
